What is perimenopause? Perimenopause is a transitional phase which can start up to 10 years before menopause (the total cessation of periods) occurs. This period of time can begin with any combination of the following symptoms:

Irregular menstrual cycles- heavier, lighter, more frequent or spacing out
Infrequent menstrual cycles- skipping cycles altogether
Hot flashes
Sleep disturbances
Libido changes
Mood changes
Recently, I have noticed a remarkable surge in discussions about perimenopause across my social media feeds—though perhaps it’s just me! As a naturopathic doctor with over a decade of experience treating women in perimenopause, I welcome this growing awareness. However, I've also observed a significant rise in requests for often unnecessary and costly laboratory tests. Many patients come to me after spending hundreds of dollars on products that ultimately proved ineffective.
I occupy a unique position as a provider; I’m not bound by insurance companies, nor am I simply trying to get you to “click the link in my bio and purchase my products!” This allows me to offer a wide range of treatment options, with my primary goal being your enhanced health and quality of life.
I take a holistic approach that includes:
Your nutritional status
Lifestyle factors
Natural herbs
Vitamins and amino acids
Bioidentical hormones
Medications
Clinically relevant testing
I am not hesitant to prescribe testosterone when it may be beneficial for women, even prior to menopause. Until recently, I was unaware that this was such a rarity for women, but it’s crucial to address how neglected they can be in this area. Thus, I feel compelled to share this public service announcement.

If you are experiencing hormonal and metabolic changes in your 40s and beyond and are not receiving the support you need, remember that it doesn’t have to be this way! I have accumulated over 10,000 patient care hours assisting women just like you.
